Casting is coming together when it comes to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but the plot still remains a mystery, leaving most of these casting announcements to come with nothing more than a name attached.
The latest member of the cast is Keri Russell who can currently be seen in Dark Skies and with Apes will once again star for director Matt Reeves, who helmed five episodes of "Felicity" and wrote several more for the show that launched Russell's career.
Russell joins Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi-Smit McPhee and Gary Oldman who were cast previously in the film which is said to be set 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and will focus on a group of human scientists struggling to survive alone in San Francisco, while Caesar (Serkis) attempts to maintain dominance over the newly formed ape kingdom. All else is unknown.
The film is targeting a spring shoot for its May 23, 2014 release.
